Welcome to the Magic Meal Planner! I created this site to make my life easier, and I hope it will make yours easier as well!
Menu planning each week can take hours, especially when the goal is a fresh, whole foods diet. When you are cooking everything yourself from scratch for most meals, planning is absolutely essential.
This site was born out of my desire to organize and preserve all that planning I have to do anyway (most of the time), so that at some point I will be able stop recreating the wheel every single week. Too often I spend the time to create a weekly menu and shopping list only to have it end up in the garbage after the shopping is done. The note paper gets crumpled after pulling it in and out of my purse from store to store, and by the time I finish marking through items purchased it’s barely legible. And lo and behold, the very next week my family wants to eat yet again! So I have to whip out another blank page and start all over.
Sometimes I simply rebel and go on strike… that means I simply don’t plan. Instead, I just go to the store and get whatever strikes my fancy as I walk up and down the aisles. I spend my grocery budget and there is food in the fridge, but the inventory will likely consist of a lot of overly-processed, sugar-laden items filled with questionable fats and preservatives. I tend to buy too many fresh foods that go bad before I can use them, or I forget essential ingredients, or I buy something totally weird that we will never eat (hey, it made sense at the store…) Our meals for that week end up being not so great, and the daily stressing over what to make for dinner is absolutely insane. This way of doing things takes even more time, and way more money, than if I just go ahead and plan the menus to begin with.
So, the Magic Meal Planner is my solution to not only preserve & organize my menus & recipes, but also to avoid skipping the weekly planning. It is my gift to myself and to you. May it bring peace and harmony to dinner tables everywhere!
