2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, mashed
1-2 eggs (1 if large, 2 if small)
1 cup dry oatmeal
1.5 cup ketchup or tomato sauce
Fresh or dried thyme, basil, marjoram (one or all) — a generous pinch of each, more if using fresh
1-2 tsp Sea salt
1 tsp Pepper
- Mix all ingredients, except 1/2 cup ketchup or tomato sauce & a small pinch of each herb, together in large bowl
- Shape into a large loaf to fit in the crock pot
- Pour 1/2 cup ketchup or tomato sauce over the loaf and sprinkle on herbs
- Cover and cook on low all day
